The Lon Humphrey Rustic Bravo knife was produced at The Knife Connection's request (Dale Stoops) and is a collaboration effort between Lon Humphrey Custom Knives and Bark River Knives. The Bark River Knives Bravo 1 is a very refined knife with design features that have made it a "Best Seller" for several years. I thought, why not take the design features of the best selling Bravo 1 and have Lon Humphrey do a hand forged custom "Rustic Bravo". The result of this mix is a great outdoor knife that not only looks unique but has the features to make it a great performer in the field.

The Rustic Bravo is a great knife for bushcraft, survival and any other type of field work that requires a heavy duty, medium-sized knife. It is very comfortable in the hand and is easy to maneuver providing excellent control. The forged 1095 steel will hold up to anything you will want to throw at it and still provide a lifetime of service. With a blade length of 4.25", the Rustic Bravo hits the "sweet spot" for a "general purpose" outdoor knife. It's big enough to do some serious batoning yet small enough to make fuzz sticks very well. It also works very nicely for field dressing and processing large-game.

Lon Humphrey hand-made, custom knives are the real deal!

Lon Humphrey makes knives the old fashion way by using a forge and a hammer. It takes patience, a keen eye, coordination and manual labor to produce the fine knives that come out of Lon's shop. His knives are made for hard work and they are very pleasing to look at as well. Lon Humphrey Custom Knives offers you unique, quality knives featuring old world craftsmanship from right here in the good old U. S. A.! Since these knives are completely hand-made, no two are exactly alike. When you own a Lon Humphrey Custom Knife, you have a piece of Americana!

The blade is deferentially heat treated for strength and edge retention. The blade features hammer marks and some forge scale giving the knife a unique appearance.

A pouch style leather belt sheath with firesteel loop is included.

Please be aware that due to the way this knife is made and the rustic nature of the knife, size and weight may vary slightly, the grinds may not exactly match and there could be some cosmetic differences. This does not effect the performance of the knife and adds to it's hand made uniqueness.

This is my knife. There are no others like it so I suppose this review is for me ;)

This is an absolutely fabulous piece of craftsmanship. I love cocobolo so I knew I had to have this as soon as I saw it. I was afraid it would be too small in my largish hand, since it's blade is just slightly larger than my ESEE 3 (which I'm gifting to my son who has smaller hands than me)...but I was wrong. The handle is longer that the ESEE 3's and is a perfect fit in my hand. 1095 hammer-forged carbon steel? Yes please. Thank you for the perfect knife. I'm not beating this one up (too much)...I'll use the ESEE for that. This is my dress knife and is now officially a family heirloom.

My only negative thing to say would be about the sheath. I'm not fond of this style of pocket sheath, and the lovely bone-handled firesteel that came with the set doesn't fit into the sheath. That being said, I can't see putting a work of art like this knife into plastic kydex, so I will make do with the sheath and just use a different firesteel in it.
