The Great Eastern Cutlery Tidioute #46 Whaler pocket knife is a very large pocket knife that features two blades. It is truly one "whale-of-a-knife"!

Even though it is a unique pattern and large sized, it is a practical knife for many situations. If you have a small cutting task, the smaller pen blade will handle it. If you need to cut something like a large piece of rope, the large spear point blade will quickly get the job done.

So wheather you want a unique collector piece or a heavy duty user, the GEC #46 Whaler is a "whale-of-a-choice"!

We are an authorized Great Eastern Cutlery Dealer.

Made with pride in Titusville, PA.

Lifetime Against Manufacturer's Defects
I recently purchased a Tidioute #46 Whaler - 2 Blade in Muscle Bone. Typical GEC high quality knife. Although there were a few light blemishes on the bolsters, and the small blade had some light scrape marks on it, the knife was within acceptable limits for me. It is a huge knife! Almost comically huge. I ordered it as a collectable only, and I’m glad I did. It’s a classic, but I can’t envision any circumstance when it would be sane to carry this knife for actual use, unless it was the only knife you had, or you were joking around. I sharpen all my knives when I get them. Not this one. On a scale from 1 to 10, the pull on the big blade is 12, but I managed to pinch it open. The “small” blade is 20. I need a tool to open it up. After a few drops of Nano oil soaking over night, and some exercise, it loosened up enough for me to open the pen blade with my thumbnail–once or twice. No matter how much you exercise this knife, it will always be a bear to open. On the other hand, I’m 74 years old and my strong-man days are long past. There may be some powerful folks out there that might scoff at this as a pantywaist review. Good for them. I’m writing this review for mortals.
