Description
We are pleased to offer this Great Eastern Cutlery TKC Special Factory Order. It is the first in a Maple Limited Edition Series that features Curly Maple handle scales and our exclusive Maple Inlay Shield.
The Great Eastern Cutlery, Tidioute, #29 Stockyard Whittler slip-joint pocket knife is truly a classic in every sense of the word. This three blade pocket knife provides you with options for a variety of cutting and piercing tasks. This version is produced on a medium-sized frame (3 9/16") and the handle is long enough to provide a four finger hold for most people. The shape of the knife and the rounded ends still allow the knife to easily ride in your pocket and be retrieved very nicely. This finely crafted pocket knife is a winner in every respect! Made with pride in Titusville, PA. We are an authorized Great Eastern Cutlery Dealer and purchased this new knife direct from them.
The Blade(s):
This knife features three blades, Clip, Sheep Foot and Punch. The cutting edges are 2 5/16", 2 1/8" and 2 1/8" respectively. The 1095 Carbon Steel blades have a satin finish. There is a half stop position. The blades deploy very smoothly and each one has a nail nick to facilitate opening. The Clip point blade is on one end of the knife with the Sheep Foot blade and the Punch on the opposite end.
There is a circle with three "P" letters inside the circle which stands for "Pattern Production Premier" on the right side of the blade since the Tidioute run is the first run for the #29 pattern.
The Handle Construction:
The handle scales are Curly Maple and the attaching pins and liners are brass. The bolsters and exclusive "Maple Leaf" shield inlay are nickel silver. The handle scales are nicely shaped and are flush with the outside perimeter making the knife comfortable to hold. The fit and finish are excellent and the blade action is smooth with solid "parking" when deployed.
