This L. T. Wright Knives Competition Chopper was designed by Dan Keffeler (world record holder for 2x4 competion chopping). It is a massive knife that will really make the chips fly. As I was writing this, I found out that a knife just like this one won the cutting/chopping competition at the L. T. Wright Handcrafted Knives Pout House Weekend Getaway on the weekend of 5/2 - 5/3/2014.
The Competition Chopper meets the certification requirements for blade sports competition.
Maybe you are not into knife competitions but this knife is also a fantastic bushcraft tool for large tasks. You can grab a large baton and drive this knife through a 7-8 inch piece of oak or remove the head from a deer with one swing! Do you have some limbs to remove from a shooting lane? The Competition Copper will make quick work of them! Need to make some poles for a shelter? This knife will handle the task with ease!
The design of this knife has been well thought-out and features a very secure handle with a forward lanyard hole to facilitate a safely lanyard.
The included custom made hybrid Kydex/leather sheath has been designed to hold the knife securely and it also features L. T. Wright Handcrafted Knives' slide lock tension system that allows you to adjust how tight the knife is retained. The leather drop-loop back provides a secure way to carry or hang the knife. The Kydex sheath is reversible for left or right-hand carry.
