The Great Eastern Cutlery Tidioute #13 Whip is a traditional Congress style pocket knife which has been around for a long time as its original purpose was to make quill pens. The GEC Tidioute #13 Whip is a small to medium-sized pocket knife featuring one 1095 carbon steel blade. At only 1.7 oz. and .380" thick, it carries very easily in the pocket. It is a great general purpose, gentleman's fine pocket knife whether opening the mail, whittling on a stick or cutting a thread. Made with pride in Titusville, PA. We are an authorized Great Eastern Cutlery dealer and purchased this new knife direct from them.
The Tidioute #13 Whip features a Wharncliffe blade that has a cutting edge of 2.625" and a nail nick for opening. It has a satin finish and features a solid half stop.
The Handle Construction:
The handle is long enough for a solid four finger hold for most people. The handle scales are Muslin Micarta and feature brushed nickel silver bolsters and a nickel silver inlay giving the knife a classy look. The attaching pins and liners are brass. The curve of the handle profile allows the knife to position naturally in the hand when in use. The handle scale edges are rounded and flush with the outside perimeter making the knife pleasant to hold. The fit and finish are excellent and the blade action is crisp when opening and closing.
