This Great Eastern Cutlery Tidioute #13 Speaker Jack is a factory second, meaning that there is an imperfection so it cannot be sold as a first quality knife. The minor imperfection will not affect the function of the knife so it will make a great user. It is non-returnable and does not have a warranty... But the price is right! Quite often, the imperfection is a slight gap between a liner and a spring. The blade tang is stamped with an "S" to denote that it is a factory second.
The picture is a stock photo and not of the actual knife.
Please do not contact us to inspect a factory second knife to determine the exact imperfection as these are being sold as is with a heavy discount off of our regular discounted selling price.
The Great Eastern Cutlery Tidioute #13 Speaker Jack is a traditional Congress style pocket knife which has been around for a long time as its original purpose was to make quill pens. The GEC Tidioute #13 Speaker Jack is a small to medium-sized pocket knife featuring two 1095 carbon steel blades making it very useful for a variety of every day cutting tasks. It is a great general purpose, gentleman's fine pocket knife. Made with pride in Titusville, PA. We are an authorized Great Eastern Cutlery Dealer and purchased this new knife direct from them.
The #13 Speaker Jack features a Sheepfoot main blade and one pen secondary blade. The Sheepfoot blade has a cutting edge of 2.565" and a nail nick for opening. The pen blade has cutting edge of 1.596" and a nail nick for opening. Both blades have a satin finish and feature a solid half stop.
The Handle Construction:
The handle is long enough for a solid four finger hold for most people. The handle scales are Rust Red Jig Bone and the attaching pins and liners are brass. The bolsters and inlay shield are brushed nickel silver giving the knife a classy look. There is a cut-out for accessing the nail nick on the pen blade. The curve of the handle profile allows the knife to position naturally in the hand when in use. The handle scale edges are rounded and flush with the outside perimeter making the knife pleasant to hold. The fit and finish are excellent and the blade action is crisp when opening and closing.
