Pronounced "Hoonglas" Named After the Colombian Jungla Special Operations Forces, designed For Latin American Jungle And Counter-Narcotics Operations. This is a BIG knife for BIG tasks. The Junglas with its 3/16" thick 10" blade is ideal for situations where a larger knife is needed and at 23 ounces, it packs a lot of power! It's a great knife for camp use and for most any big job bushcraft need. It also features a blunt "Hammer" pommel with lanyard hole and a plain cutting edge. The removable handles are made of durable Micarta.

Improving the handle comfort and style of the ESEE JUNGLAS is easily achieved by installing our custom G-10 handle scales, which are available in a wide variety of colors. They feature a palm swell and smooth ergonomic contouring. Our custom scales bolt on easily, and will transform the function, feel, and appearance of your knife.

The blade width measures 2.0" from cutting edge to spine, and the razer sharp cutting edge is sharpened to approximately 20 degrees. With Rowen's highly respected heat treat process, you can be sure your blade will hold its edge exceptionally well. The blades' textured power coat is exceedingly durable, and will not wear off easily.

The people behind this knife developed it by experience & practical application... not theory. ESEE Knives is the only knife maker that hires full-time trainers and adventurers to develop and test their products, and conduct training in global wilderness environments.

Comes with a Kydex sheath and "Adjustible Sheath Tensioner" screw which allows you to fine-tune your knife-in-sheath fit. Also included is a heavy-duty Cordura Backing with adjustable snap retainer. The sheath screws are made from stainless steel. The lashing holes facilitate storing a length of 550 paracord by wrapping around the sheath and through the open holes. The entire sheath system is ambidextrous to enable left or right hand carry.

In terms of quality and value, purchasing an ESEE Knife is a decision where you can't go wrong. Since 1997 Randall's Adventure & Training has designed no-nonsense, affordable field knives specifically targeted to military, law enforcement, and the special operations community. They have built a solid reputation. Their knives are carried by countless military personnel, law enforcement agencies, and special operations teams around the world. They have survived years of extreme use, brutal testing, and design refinement. Originally designed to withstand the toughest of harsh situations, ESEE Knives (Randall's Adventure & Training) now have a reputation that is second to none. To top it off, let's not forget ESEE Knives boasts an UNCONDITIONAL No Questions Asked Lifetime warranty, just in case you should manage to destroy your knife (see warranty details below). Buy with confidence, knowing your ESEE Knife purchase carries lasting value.

This ESEE Knife is made from high carbon 1095 steel. And while 1095 is a top choice for professional cutlery designed for hard use, it will rust and stain if not properly cared for - especially on the cutting edge and around the laser engraving. It is the user's responsibility to keep the blades properly lubricated and cleaned. We suggest using a dry film rust inhibitor such as Sentry Solutions MARINE TUF-CLOTH.

ESEE knives are not considered "high production" due to the care that is taken during the manufacturing process. After the steel is laser cut to size, the knives are heat treated (**see note below). Both Micarta and G-10 handle slabs are profiled and radiused on a CNC milling machine, and each set of handles are matched and fitted to a corresponding knife blank. The reason for this is during the laser cutting process there is a certain amount of tolerance, so one knife may be a few thousandths of an inch bigger (or smaller) than the next. By marrying a set of handles to a blank throughout the manufacturing process, the user ends up with a finely fitted knife. The handles slabs are held in place with three screws fastened with Loctite into a barrel nut. When the handles are assembled, a fiber liner is placed between the Micarta or G-10 slab and tang of the knife. The partially serrated knives are made by milling each serration individually with a 3/8" end mill. Unlike a lot of serrations, these are designed to easily cut through fabrics, rope and other flexible materials.

Partially serrated blades are easily sharpened by honing with a flat hone across them in the same manner as you would hone the plain edge. The textured powder coat we use on ESEE knives is a special powder that has an increased amount of resistance to wear and corrosion, while maintaining a smoother feel than oxide or phosphate coatings.

**All ESEE Knives now feature a Rowen Manufacturing heat treat recipe that allows for hardening the blade completely to 57 Rc. while still maintaining flexibility.

No Questions Asked Warranty, from ESEE Knives - Randall's Adventure & Training: "If you screw it up, break it, or cut it in two with a cutting torch, send it back and we'll replace it. Warranty is transferable. In other words, we warranty the knife no matter how many times it's been traded, sold or given away. We don't ask for a sales receipt, date of purchase or where you bought the knife - No fine print and no hassles. We do not warranty against rust or normal wear and tear.

A lot of folks have asked us (ESEE Knives) how we can stay in business offering such great customer service and warranty protection. The answer is simple; we believe that our consumers, as a whole, are honest people. The occasional customers who are dishonest are few and far between, so even if we loose every once in a while due to dishonesty, our reputation of great customer service, regardless of the situation, brings us more good customers."

With the exception of the Lite Machete blade, all ESEE branded knives are manufactured in Idaho Falls, Idaho by Rowen Manufacturing. The Cordura MOLLE backs are sewn in Mexico. Izula gear sewn goods are made in Knoxville, TN.

This Knife came exactly as described - very high quality. I have been researching the ESEE Junglas for quite some time - so I know how well built they are. I mostly wanted to give a shout out to Dale and The Knife Connection for top notch service and fast delivery. Thanks.
Excellent knife great price with very prompt shipping this knife will not disappoint I would highly recommend.
I bought this knife a few days ago from the Knife Connection. I ordered it on a Friday and received it the following Monday. Man that is super fast shipping and great customer service. If you are looking to purchase a large survival knife I could not recommend this knife any higher. I have only had it a few days, but I have already beat the crap out of this thing and it just laughs at me and says "Is that all you got". I have never seen a knife take this kind of abuse and still stay razor sharp. It is the most incredible piece of steel that I have ever owned. You have got to get a Junglas!!!!!!!!
This turned out to be a much more useful knife than I imagined. Its a big knife that can do both large and small tasks exceptionally well. It has a good balance to it and I find i use it much more often than I thought. Its large but not awkward. Also, the color in the photo is a little misleading. Its a lot cooler looking in person. I took a star off because of the sheath. I had issues with my son getting it and the lock feature literally falling off the sheath. I put loctite on it so it shouldnt fall apart, but i can pull the knife out with it engaged. Its a quality sheath, but since im no longer in the Marines wearing a flak im not sure whats a good way to really carry it when walking around in the field haha. Overall, a great knife for a decent price. I highly recommend knife connection as well and couldn't be happier with the customer service. Semper Fi, Bill
