The DPx Gear Hostile Environment Field Tool (HEFT) is designed and built for big-knife work. Whether that means skinning a moose, building a shelter, or carrying it on your next overseas adventure, the full-tang HEFT 6 is a tried-and-tested workhorse.
The meaty feel of a Sleipner tool steel blade in a DPx Gear, field-designed frame is hard to replicate. This brutal-use blade is designed for no-compromise, all-day, all-week hard work. The six inch blade is made of Sleipner steel, a chromium-molybdenum-vanadium alloyed tool steel that boasts extreme resistance to wear, resistance to chipping, edge retention, hardness (60 HRC), and excellent toothiness in repetitive, fine cutting. This working knife comes with an integrated striker pommel, bottle opener/pry bar, lanyard hole and lashing point.
The back of the blade is 0.19" (5mm) thick and features three sizes of wire strippers that serve as jimping.
The HEFT 6 is a perfect combination of size and utility and is expertly balanced for hours of hard use without causing blisters, hot spots, or bruising. The handle is hollow and designed to store anything from survival materials like fire starter and water-purification tablets. The scales are secured with two hybrid slotted/Allen screws.
The Assault version is a low-profile, super-durable combatives tool. The stonewashed TiCN PVD black blade coating has a very low visual signature, making it an excellent choice for law enforcement and military use. The PVD coating also provides wear resistant and surface protection, increasing the life of the blade. The contoured handles are black American G10 scales. The knife weighs 10.23 oz. and comes with a black Cordura sheath.
