CUMMING BLADEWORKS, Dylan Fletcher Design - Palm Tac
Cumming Bladeworks (Andy Roy) and Dylan Fletcher have teemed up to produce a line of knives that have a well thought out designs. Dylan's designs incorporates every aspect of a great knife such as being practical, durable, comforable, easy to use, great looking... and all with a very modest price. And when you consider that only premium materials are used and the fit and finish are superb, you truly get a lot of "bang for your buck".
The Palm Tac is a compact knife with a "million and one" uses. With its 2.75" cutting edge and clip point blade design, it is a great knife for field dressing game animals and there is plenty of "belly" on the cutting edge for skinning as well. The false edge allows the knife to be very efficient at piercing tasks. The three finger handle is extremely comfortable so hand fatigue is not an issue even during periods of extended use.
The Palm Tac is made from AEB-L Stainless Steel which is gaining quite a reputation due to its great performance. AEB-L performs much like carbon steel which is fantastic when you consider that it is stainless steel!
About AEB-L Stainless Steel:
AEB-L is a Swedish stainless razor steel. It is a very pure, fine grained alloy (as much so as powder steels). When heat treated properly, produces very small, fine grain, which positively affects edge holding, edge stability and toughness. This steel is known for the ability to take a very fine edge. It has extremely high corrosion resistance with a medium range wear resistance making it very easy to sharpen.
