Description

Liten Bror in Swedish means "Little Brother" or "Small Brother"

The knife is a smaller version of Bark River's Aurora Bushcraft Knife.

Not only is the knife Scaled Down a bit it is made with Crucible's CPM3V Powdered Metal Steel and is "Convex Scandi" Being a convex grind and the addition of CPM3V's toughness allows the use a Scandi grind without the fear of having the edge spine be not stout enough for the kind of edge retention we are used to on Bark River knives.

A Convex Scandi Grind is a grind that is half way up the blade, but the grind itself is convex. Contrary to modern thinking, original Scandi grinds were (like nearly all knives) convex grinds. The convex grind allows the edge to be supported by nearly 400% more metal.

The Blade on the Liten Bror is clearly marked CPM3V on the Right facing of the blade.

The Size is very handy and large enough for serious work. The handle is large enough for large hands, but is comfortable even with medium or small hands.

The Liten Bror is a compact, yet full-sized knife. This knife is a very convenient size and will handle a variety of tasks. It will surprise you in its ability to tackle larger jobs with ease. The smaller size makes it easy to pack and carry on any trip. A great knife for all bushcraft, hunting or any other outdoor chore.

About CPM 3V Steel

CPM3V is a tool steel made by the Crucible Particle Metallurgy process. CPM3V steel is designed to provide maximum wear resistance to breakage and chipping while still being highly wear-resistant. This "super steel" offers impact toughness greater than A2 and D2 steels while providing excellent wear resistance and hardness. The CPM process produces very homogeneous, high quality steel characterized by superior dimensional stability, grindability and toughness compared to other steels produced by conventional processes. This steel could be considered a particle metallurgy A2 steel with added Vanadium and because it has a Chromium content of 7.5%, it is still a relatively low maintenance steel.
This chart will give you an idea of how CPM 3V steel compares to A2 steel and some other steels.
