The new Bark River Bushcrafter-II is the larger version of our original Bushcrafter. The new model has all of the comfortable features of the original and is longer in both handle and blade. The wider pointed spear point blade is the one preferred by most modern bushcraft enthusiasts. This larger version has been one of the most requested knives for 2016. We have continued to use the CPM-3V super tool steel on this model because of it's extreme toughness and superb edge holding over most common steels.
The cutting edge on the Bushcrafter II could be considered somewhat of a hybrid since it is a combination of Scandi and convex edges. The convex cutting edge combined with the thickness of the Scandi grind and CPM 3V steel provides for excellent edge retention.

CPM 3V is a high toughness, wear-resistant tool steel made by the Crucible Particle Metallurgy process. It is designed to provide maximum resistance to breakage and chipping in a high wear-resistance steel. It offers impact resistance greater than A2, D2, Cru-Wear, or CPM M4, approaching the levels provided by S7 and other shock resistant grades.
